Fact-Checking Policy

At Satna News, the credibility of every story is our highest priority. In an age of misinformation, we follow the process below.

1. Our Verification Process

  1. Source check: We identify the original source of a story and assess its credibility.
  2. At least two sources: Sensitive and major stories are, wherever possible, published only after confirmation from two or more independent sources.
  3. Official confirmation: We seek official statements or documents from government departments, police, administration or the institution concerned.
  4. Photo/video verification: We verify the origin, date and location of viral images and videos using tools such as reverse image search.
  5. Data check: Figures and facts are cross-checked against original reports or official data.
  6. Editorial review: An editor reviews each story before publication.

2. Viral Claims and Rumours

We do not publish viral social-media claims without verification. If a claim is found to be false, we may debunk it and publish the correct facts.

3. Corrections

If an error is found in one of our stories:

  • The story is corrected as soon as possible.
  • A correction note is added at the end of the article where necessary.

4. How to Report an Error

If you spot a mistake in any of our stories, email contact@satnanews.in with the subject “Correction”, along with the link and the correct information.

5. AI and Automated Tools

If any AI tool is used to assist in preparing content, a human editor must verify and review the facts before publication.
